Youth Empowerment Program among Ondo youths (2019)

In 2019, United Global Resolve for Peace (UGRFP) identified a need to empower youths in Ondo State due to high unemployment rates and limited access to education and vocational training. The aim was to equip young people with the necessary skills and knowledge to create their own opportunities, become self-reliant, and contribute positively to their communities.

About the project

Workshops on Entrepreneurship and Vocational Skills

• Entrepreneurship Training: Conducted a series of workshops focused on business development, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. Participants learned how to identify business opportunities, develop business plans, and manage small enterprises.

• Vocational Skills Training: Offered practical training sessions in various trades such as carpentry, tailoring, hairdressing, and ICT. Experienced trainers provided hands-on instruction and guidance to ensure participants gained practical skills.

• Mentorship Programs: Established mentorship networks connecting young entrepreneurs with successful business leaders in the community for guidance and support.

Leadership Training Sessions

• Leadership Development Workshops: Organized interactive sessions aimed at developing leadership skills. Topics covered included effective communication, conflict resolution, team building, and community organizing.

• Youth Leadership Forums: Created platforms for youths to discuss community issues, share ideas, and propose solutions. These forums encouraged active participation and leadership among the youth.

• Role Model Interactions: Invited prominent leaders and successful individuals from various fields to share their experiences and inspire the youth. These sessions aimed to motivate participants to take active roles in their communities.
